How To:
this meme is a little bit different from the usuals you see on bakerstreet, but those of you who have experience with tumblr RP will recognize the style! the general idea of it is this: you pick one or more sentence prompts for your character to say to another character. there are two main ways i picture this going down:

Version A:

1. post your character with a blank top-level like normal bakerstreet memes.
2. other people pick a prompt for their character to say to yours, and tag you with it — with or without scenarios attached.
3. you thread from there in whatever style and scenario you'd like!

Version B:

1. pick one or more prompts you feel suit your character.
2. post your top-level with those prompts (with letters or numbers assigned to each prompt) — with or without scenarios, up to you!
3. other people choose a prompt to reply to.
4. you thread from there in whatever style and scenario you'd like!

of course, if you think of another way to use the prompts that you like better, you're welcome to do it that way! for example, you don't have to use the prompts as something your character says... but rather as a leading prompt for the scenario!

it's also worth noting that there's nothing forcing you to use a prompt as-is — if you wanna change up the phrasing a little bit, change up pronouns, whatever, go for it! and feel free to do a li'l OOC threading to discuss ideas for scenarios or ask about information if needed!

[Ah yes, the stock response from kids everywhere who don't exactly know how to answer a question, because feelings and emotions were way too complicated of a concept for MacCready to wrap his head around, which is why he ignored them or expressed them the only way he knew how.

He pauses cleaning his rifle to glare.]

It just does, fucko. And my gun's all in parts right now so I can't just shoot you in the fucking head.

[Or maybe he secretly just wants an answer for once and that is a very convenient excuse. Which is stupid. He doesn't nor has he ever wanted anything from a mungo.]

Man, haven't you gotten tired of that by now?

( that's muttered while he's rubbing at the back of his neck, because you know what, it's not like he hasn't been shot in the head like... probably more times than he can actually count, but it's never fun or easy to endure. )

[He had went back to meticulously cleaning out a crevice with the dirty rag, but that explanation gives him pause to look up in dubiousness.]

What does that even matter? [Granted, he doesn't not like to fight. He gets a thrill sniping an asshole or two sure (so no, he hasn't gotten tired of it), but whether he did or didn't he fought to protect his settlement, himself, it didn't matter if he likes it or not.] You like getting the shit kicked out of you instead? Because that's what happens if you don't fight back. It's stupid.

Yeah, maybe it is.

( he looks down at his hands. broad knuckles, long elegant fingers. kulo liked to use them to strangle people, watch the light leave their eyes. and then, very abruptly and very, very casually, )

I could kill everyone here without thinking about it. Wouldn't even break a sweat. Just...( a snap of his fingers, the sound is crisp and clear. )

[Normally he has a hard time differentiating his bullshit, and considering just how often he lies MacCready just assumes that of pretty much everything he says. Something about the way he says that, though, he believes, which gives him an unsettling feeling in his gut. Especially given how often MacCready shoots him in the head — even if he totally deserves it, he doesn't have to take it.]

( he's stepped into liminal space with this kid. a threshold he can't come back from. he hasn't talked about this, about... any of this, not in centuries.

he pulls a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and taps one up, bends down to capture it between his teeth and then he lights it amidst a thoughtful silence, the khhhshk of his old zippo the only thing that breaks it. )

Because it costs me less to let some angry kid beat the shit out of me than it would for me to kill him. Checks and balances, you know?
