I shut down the research and development of cybernetics due to the tensions it was causing within the Institute. In addition, upon examining its primary subject of experimentation and records thereof, I came to the conclusion that a prolonged lifespan leads to a reduction in the most fundamental traits of humanity. Cybernetics research brought us many advancements in the medical field, but I deemed furthering its cause to be more potentially harmful than worthwhile.
